Trail of Tears is a Norwegian gothic metal band formed in 1994 under the name of Natt (Norwegian for Night), having its name changed to Trail of Tears in 1997, to reflect changes in sound and line-up. Trail of Tears combined male death growls with soprano female vocals, accompanied by keyboard melodies. As of 2007 they have released a total of five albums, the most recent being Existentiareleased January 25, 2007. Trail of Tears broke up on November 28, 2006 due to the departure of several members.
